Disappointing - many better options availiable in the area

Now while I can't actually remember how I got here (it was after a fairly heavy drinking session) I can remember how excited I was to be going; and also how disappointed I was by what I ate.
I felt that portions were pretty small and tasted fairly average. People say that the prices are good but I can't really agree for the quality of taste on display.
You can get this food at any other Indian Restaurant in the area for a similar price and be fed better. Be adventurous and do that - stay away the the sparkling lights!!

It's a simple concept: big room, lotsa tables, attentive service, and really good food -- it just works.
it's not a place for atmosphere - don't take a first date here - but it's a great place to nip in for a large heap of very good food at a reasonable price. there's never enough places like that.

Masala Zone is built in a split level kind of way and has a lot of room - but it is so popular, you may have to wait a few minutes before you get a table, especially if you visit on Friday or Saturday night. I don't think it is possible to book ahead. The decor is nice and uncluttered with none of the kitsch that afflicts most Indian restaurants. The kitchen is located behind a glass panel and you can watch the chefs put your food together from the dining room. The service is polite and friendly and very quick

The steel trays here are cute... and the food on them is cute too. Its a kind of indian canteen, but the decor of terracotta and indian art brings the place alive. Well priced and good for takeaway.

I went here last night with five friends because it can be quite daunting to try and find a good and at the same time reasonably priced curry in town. Turns out Masala Zone is the perfect solution to this problem.
The grand thalis on the silver platter come with rice and chapattis, two veg dishes, dhal, indian salad, rhaita, an indian canape and a curry of your choice from the main menu.
The only reason I am not rating this restaurant with another star was the service. One of our friends was a little late and we had ordered some wine and told our waitress that we would be waiting until she arrived to order food.
In the end we did order without her, only after having at least five different waiters ask us whether we wanted to order and, yes, five times we had to literally fend them off.
At one stage we counted no less than 14 staff runing around like headless chickens when one probably only would have needed half that.
However, the food was gorgeous and very very reasonably priced. If are looking for a quiet night out don't go here as it's loud and a little chaotic but after a few glasses of wine you'll probably not notice anymore.

Keeping it street

Head here for a speedy lunch or light bite and you won't be disappointed. The street food selections (thali, your choice of curry, salad, dhal & rice) are served up on stainless-steel trays and give you the chance to taste a wide selection of food. Service can be slack if you're in a big party.
