I like it!

I like this place. It is simple, you know what you are going to get and it is quite buzzy. The buzzyness means that it is a good place to pop into on a night out to get some food without feeling like you are interupting a whole night.

It feels less stressful than waggas and I like the bento boxes.

Worth popping in for some good value quick food.

Good Quick Bento

07 Jan 08, 14:06 3* As expected

This place is, as all the other reviews state very similar to Wagamamas, but with more lived in and more established feel to it. It is like they believe in the food they are serving, however in Wagamamas it's no so convincing.

The atmosphere is buzzing and busy, but service was quick and efficient. I opted for the chicken katsu bento and was suitably impressed. I love the idea of bento and having lots of different type of food, suits me well. This is my first try of bento so I may have it all wrong.

Great juices - the strawberry and orange is really worth a try!

This place is ideally situated for a quick bite before going out in the west end, or even before a trip to the Curzon cinema.

Better than wagamamas

20 Aug 07, 17:54 3* As expected

The other reviewers are right that it is a classier Wagas... The set-up is the same with the menu focused slightly more on Japanese food.

The food is great. I had a bento box with chicken katsu which was served with a vegetable fritter, rice, salad, sushi and miso soup. For £10 it was great value for money. My companion ordered gyoza dumplings which were brilliant and a spicy laksa. I didn't taste it but it looked great.

The only small complaint (and the reason why I didn't give it 4 stars) was the fact that the bento box took ages to arrive. It does say that it takes awhile but my companion had almost finished his food before I got mine. I actually had to prompt the waiter to check my food hadn't been forgotten because it had taken so long. A bit of reassurance wouldn't have gone astray. Given they add a suggested gratuity, you expect the service to be better than that.

Wagamama ++

30 Jun 07, 21:28 4* Above expectations

Basically you'd never actively want to go to Wagamama's again after you've had a meal here. The style is very similar, communial dinning with fast and furious service. So if you don't mind hearing how Jess thought about her latest date went or what Paul's day at the office was like whilst dinning on some rather good Japanese noodle, sushi or curry dishes then this is the place for you.

If you want my advice I'd select one of the Japanese Shinto boxes. They've got a mixture of most things on the menu and for less than a £10 you can feel stuffed (always a sign of a very good meal in my book)!

Do the Chicken Noodle Soup

03 May 07, 09:23 3* As expected

A Wagamamas-styled Japanese restaurant, this offers great value and virtually guarantees a seat in this busy part of Soho. The sushi is unremarkable and perhaps best avoided, but the bento boxes are generous, while the noodle ramen dishes are excellent. Staff are on the over-efficient side, which makes you feel slightly rushed, and the lighting is very bright - so make sure your make-up is up to some close analysis.
