Dim DOH!

02 May 08, 15:05 3* As expected

I was a huge fan of Dim T until I discovered Ping Pong and since then its seemed a bit second rate in terms of decor, choice and atmosphere, but only in comparison to Ping Pong.. If I had never been there it would still be a favourite of mine as the food arrives quickly, its fresh and reasonably priced.

Yum

I love this dim t restaurant. If you fancy chinese food but with a twist then this is the place to be.

Dim sum wise I'm a big fan of chicken & asian greens and you get about 3 portions in each dish so we normally order 5 dishes between 2.

Then onto the mains, there are a few normal dishes like crispy duck, green thai curry salads etc, but the majority of people go for the stir fry option. Choose your meat, noodles, and topping and away you go. Portions used to be huge but have shrunk recently.

Only problem is that service can be quite slow so if you're short of time probably best to give it a miss.

You must have the ribs...

20 Apr 08, 23:37 5* Beyond expectations

I love Dim t - they seems to have got it just right and I am always surprised at how reasonably priced the meals are.

It is great being able to pick and choose ingredients and the way they are cooked - particular must haves for me are the duck and pancakes and you MUST have the ribs, they are just amazing.

You'd be dim not to try it

30 Jan 08, 11:41 4* Above expectations

I love Dim T- to the point where I would actively choose to go to one of these rather than, say, a Wagamama. And that's saying quite a lot.

The Charlotte Street branch is cute, petite and funky, and every time I have been there I've been drawn to the dim sum, which are really good value and delicious! You only get three of each kind, which is annoying when you're sharing, but trust me, it's worth getting two baskets of the prawn and chive dumplings. Yum!

It's a great little date place- mind you, you can't go far wrong on Charlotte Street! Maybe I have such a good impression of Dim T because I went on a very successful date there almost a year ago...anyway, it's very good. Try it!

Steamed Buns to Die For!

23 Nov 07, 10:26 4* Above expectations

It was my first time at this eating establishment and also trying dim sum - I wasn't disappointed.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very busy in the evenings and can be quite noisy. This didn't put me off, I quite liked the buzz.

The food tasted very fresh and the service was fairly quick. We opted for some dim sum to start and their steamed bums were to die for, they were really fluffy and light. The chicken dumplings were also pretty dreamy.

This place excels at great starters and dim sum, my main was nice, but a little too much garlic was used for my liking - though my fellow diners main looked and tasted yummy!

There are lots of options to choose from on the menu, and most tastes are catered for. They have Thai food, noodle dishes and many Chinese classic dishes.

The decor is really chic and very well presented. I enjoyed this place despite the fact that it is a chain, and is very popular. Yummy food that is reasonably healthy - always a winner!

Good for a quick lunch

07 Nov 07, 15:09 3* As expected

Dim T's is a fairly modern thai restaurant in a handy location. They pack the tables in, so don't go here if you're after a romantic lunch!

The food is standard thai - soups, thai green curry, lemon breaded chicken etc... but they do a Build Your Own service which allows you to choose type of noodle, type of meat, type of sauce and if its stir fry or soup.

The food arrived quickly, but service was slow once we'd finished eating. But at the £8 mark for lunch it does the job nicely. x
