California? Pah!

Well below expectations
I had a smoothie and wrap for lunch from Pure California the other day. I've always wondered what chamois leather tasted like and thanks to these guys, wish granted.
The smoothie with dates and honey was good but really, a smoothie isn't difficult. Too many decent places competing for my lunch dollar...I wouldn't bother.

If you can get over the operating theatre decor, Pure California serves up an amazingly healthy lunchtime treat. For all media types tired of powdered or liquid lunches, a quick trip to P.C. will sort you right out. I love it for the food labelling - it tells you what the food is good for - the wheat free options and the range of wraps is pretty unique, the tuna/carrot crunchy salad stuff makes me go nyeh nyeh nyeh like a big cat, and when you go to pay there's a cheeky range of Green and Black's chocolate, Tyrell's wonderful crisps, and enough cutlery napkins and condiments to nick and earn a living running a market stall on Berwick Street (for when your dinner-plate -eyed boss runs away to find herself - in California, of course.) It's overpriced, but then, hey, what price is a cloud of righteous nutritional smug?

This place is a 5 mins walk from oxford and piccadilly circus tube. This place is a more healthier option to eat at, you are garanteed to get your 5 a day! There's a range of smoothes, sandwiches and wraps, and a salad bar! plus you will be feeling energetic and healthier knowing that the nutrients will be having a positive impact and giving you a boost!

Good to go

California, home to America's young, golden, beautiful people. Pure California, home to the best smoothies, wraps and salads in Soho. Yes, I know all this "goodness on the go"Â guff is enough to have you reaching for the nearest hamburger, but smoothies like these are a sure-fire shortcut to hitting those 5-a-day fruit and veg targets, and might just be the best thing you put inside you all day. With names like "Energy Elixir"Â, "Goji Power"Â and "Personal Trainer"Â, you know they're doing you good , and you can add a Food Doctor friendly extra shot of wheatgrass to ramp up the nutritional brownie points. I love the wraps, like the California Chicken with low fat dressing, alfalfa sprouts and chopped broccoli (which tastes way better than that sounds).
