Strikes the Right Cord

As expected
Cord bar is tucked away on Tib Street near the Smithfields estate. A lovely little bar which has booth seats covered in cord...hence the namesake. They serve a good range of beers and also have some of the best pies I have ever tasted. It can get a little too busy at night...and it used to be extremely smoky before the smoking ban. If you can get there early to cadge a seat, you could easily stay there all night.
Popular Meeting Place

An upmarket indie bar, Cord is a favourite with fans of Manchester's quirky indie scene, figureheaded by Twisted Nerve records. The comfortable booths are a perfect place for groups to start a night out in the Northern Quarter. The drinks aren't cheap, but a good selection of lagers on tap should silence any complaints. Cord has remained popular for several years now, despite fickle fashions.
