Spicy S**t

Well below expectations
My partner and I were looking for somewhere decent to eat, since Akbars was closed down so we looked online at reviews for Indian restaurants on the curry mile. So anyway Spicy Hut kept coming up as being really good, quality food so we decided to try it. Well we were firstly disappointed with the starters, every bit of flavour had been sucked out of the lamb chops and the tandorri fish was just a fried piece of fish. So we thought maybe we will be more impressed with the main courses and how wrong we were. Mine was more like microwave korma than masala and my partners handi was bland, the naan was like raw dough and the chapati rock hard. Whoever gave this place a raving review has never had a full, flavoured traditional indian curry.

Beyond expectations
It is hard for a restaurant to stand out in Manchester's crowded curry mile, but with an inventive menu and superb chefs, Spicy Hut has managed to carve out an impressive niche for itself. Also operating a busy takeaway service, Spicy Hut offers a range of Pakistani dishes, with an emphasis on flavour rather than mouth-burning madrasses. Visitors should take advantage of the unusual ingredients and dishes, to spice up the Rusholme experience.

Beyond expectations
Spicy Hut curry house is one of the smallest establishments on the curry mile and it is always full to the brim. The waiters greet you with a warm welcome and a seat (whenever available!) and tend to your every need. I particularly enjoy this restaurant as I am vegetarian, and on my first visit they could not do enough to accomodate my diet choice. Their food is beautifully prepared and reasonably priced. I would recommend the Malta, which is a house special curry made with cream and orange juice! There is also a laugh to be had if anyone orders the'Chef Special'...I won't ruin the joke...but it's a riot!
