Wonderful for so many reasons

This castle is wonderous for many reasons, however the most important I think is that it's still inhabited and used as a castle by the Duke and Duchess of Norfolk.
The gardens are perfectly manicured, and stepping inside the grounds is like having every stress and strain removed from your body as you walk into this idyllic haven of beauty and history.
There is great wheelchair access too so users can actually get to experience inside the castle on different floors thanks to the lifts inside.

Fantastic Castle

Arundel Castle is a proper castle, you catch site of it as you drive into Arundel from any direction and it really is breathtaking. The gardens are fantastic for a mini-picnic on a summers day and the castle tour is well worth the money. If you like big swords, dungeons and keeps, this is the place for you.

Don't go on a Monday

Don't get me wrong, I think the castle is absolutely beautiful, which is why I made the effort to drive and go and look around....the only problem was that it was a Monday and for some reason unbeknown to me, it was closed.
On the plus side, the car park opposite is very cheap, £1-50 for up to 3 hours (the minimum you can have) but that isn't really relevant when we couldn't even get in. I'm sure I will try again one day that isn't a Monday and if so I will probably give it a higher rating, until then, just slightly bitter I'm afraid
