Excellent Afternoon Tea

16 Jun 08, 21:42 5* Beyond expectations

I went here for my mums birthday and it was really lovely, we sat in the conservatory with a seaview and had a fantastic selection of pasteries and sandwiches delightfully presented on a three tier cake stand. The price was £22.50 per person and £80 per two persons with champagne. Excellent

Brighton landmark

29 Apr 08, 08:13 3* As expected

This is without doubt the most famous hotel on Brighton seafront...it's beautiful from the outside...a real landmark.

It is definitely a place for the much older crowd. I've been in the bar during the evening a few times and felt like I was a little out of place...too many blazers and comb-overs for my liking!

That said though you can't go wrong with afternoon tea there with good friends on a special occasion. Very sophis.

Not As Grand As I Had Hoped

26 Apr 08, 13:50 2* Below expectations

I have stayed at the Grand about 8 times now. As im not from this area you tell all your friends and get excited about staying here. The service is 5 star but the hotel needs a face lift and maybe renamed to once was grand. The room service food is expensive and even if it was cheap you wouldnt want to eat what they send up to you. I will not be staying here again as enough is enough.

Old and Traditional

16 Apr 08, 20:42 3* As expected

The Grand isnt as Grand as it used to be but if you are visiting Brighton its a must go see if you are strolling along the prom. For a treat book yourself afternoon tea in the lounge and sit back and stuff your face with perfect sandwiches and array of little cakes all pleasantly placed on a tier. With a selection of teas to choose from its a great way to relax with a girl friend or as a bday treat. If you are lucky you might even get the pianist thrown in,
