Another city centre Italian in Brighton which will give any of the others a run for their money. It's excellent value with offers on at all times of the day. The quality of the food is good, I would say better than you might expect for the price. It's location close to the Dome and Theatre Royal make it an excellent place for an early evening pre show meal. Excellent service too.

This venue is great value for money and quality of food. It's really quite resonably priced for it's location and the staff are really friendly. I have also been to a birthday meal here and the setup of tables was great with a complimentary birthday cake for the birthday girl!

Pinnochio is a very popular, reasonably priced Italian restaurant, which is fantasic for a pre-theatre meal as it's just round the corner from the Theatre Royal, Brighton.
They offer some extremely good deals, I'm pretty sure I have eaten there before and a two course lunch was only £5!
A true competitor for Donatello's, and food and value!
Good Points: Price, service.
Bad Points: VERY busy.. but not somewhere you can really "book"
If your passing, and your hungry and dont want a full on fancy meal... pop in.
Great, no frills food.
Tasty food, speedy service

The food at Pinocchio is what one would expect from an Italian restaurant. The service is very fast and the staff are quite friendly. Although when we came it was very busy and quite noisy downstairs due to it being lunch time, it turned out they have a whole second floor, which started of empty but by the time we left was starting to fill up. The music in the background is quite cheesy Americanized Italian music but you barely notice it unless you listen out for it.
I would suggest that if you are having a two course meal to choose the special set menu, this allows you to choose one from any starter and pudding and from most of the mains, aka a three course meal. This costs just under £16 so is on average cheaper by about £2 than ordering a main and a pudding for example. I believe it was a bit more cheaper than a main and a pudding. For those who did not understand the waffle that is a three course meal for the price of a two.
For the starter I had a salad from the salad bar which was very nice. The chick peas were not to my liking but the pasta as delicious although if you do not like al dente style pasta i would not recommend this restaurant.
For the main course I had monkfish with a garlic and tomato sauce. It was definitely something I would have again and came, to my surprise like all meat and fish dishes, with a small dish of vegetables. My sister had a tagliatelle with a carbonara type sauce. I tried some and it tasted ok but I do not think it is something you should order.
For the pudding I decided that I would not be able to eat the profiteroles so I chose the fruit salad and ice cream. It was presented in a glass type dish with the fruit salad at the bottom, a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of strawberry on top of this. Then there was a wafer and some whipped cream. It looked amazing. However the combination of brain freeze and an overload of acid has put me off from having that again.
