Great cocktails

30 May 08, 11:50 3* As expected

I only ever come here for cocktails as they are yummy and the choice is great. Only eaten here once but it wasn't the best - maybe they were having an off day? The bar staff are always really chatty and friendly. Good for a few drinky poos on a night out.

I do like a bit of Las Iguanas...they seem to do quite a mixture on the menu ranging from tapas to mexican and the like. Yum.

It's a very lively, fun place full of atmosphere and noise. The food is really excellent and the staff keep you well fed and watered as they rush about from table to table. It's perhaps not the ideal spot for an intimate dinner for two...unless you go mid-week when it's not quite so mental.

This is the perfect place however for big work groups...birthdays...hens...or just because you and a load of mates what a good night out. Try it amigos...you won't be disappointed.

Ooooh Spicy!

30 Apr 08, 22:14 4* Above expectations

This is a really vibrant, fun restaurant, its relatively new and is popular with large groups. The tables are group friendly too as they are round so you can talk to everyone on your table instead of being at opposite ends. They have a cocktail bar too which serves yummy but very strong authentic cocktails. The long island ice tea is yummy and will have you falling off your chair suprisingly quickly! The food is mexican/south american and is well presented, varied and really good. The portions are huge and their re-fried beans are excellent. Well worth a visit.

This is surprisingly good food considering it's generally packed out with large groups dining as a secondary objective to getting absolutely hammered. Of course I've never been one of those people. However, it's really, really tasty and unusual menu delivers really well for large groups considering the amount of covers they go through. It's probably quite good to go on a blind date in there too as it's quite dark. Or if you want to go to dinner with someone you don't want to be seen with of course.

As close as I'm going to get to being back on holiday in Brasil

Right opposite the Jubilee Library in Brighton city centre, Las Iguanas is a South American restaurant. The menu is great, ranging from familiar to more unusual. They make very good caipirinhas, not as good as Ipanema, Rio... but pretty close! They also do 2 for 1 cocktails before 7:30pm. I organised a friends hen do here. It was excellent (if I do say so myself) but the place was full of other hens which was a bit off putting.
