Located along Grand parade with the massive park opposite a lovely location just out of town away from all the mainstream clubs if thats not your kind of thing. It's a bit dirty but it's got a great atmosphere. With Turbosound TMS4's and Audioform 2x18's its got a great sound system. The new sound guys and promoters are trying to change the reputation of bad bands and sound. With bands on every thursday, the promoter sam always gets good bands in. With other promoters putting on gigs most saturdays and sundays aswell. They also have football, movie nights and DJ's. They also have Bacca, he's the guy with the hench beard, he's amazing, go have a chat and he'll share his wisdom! check it out if you like gigs or fancy somewhere to hang out before you go to a club. The drinks are cheap and theres a good vibe if a few of you go there, plus pool is often free if you ask for the keys!

Good, but smells of sweat!?

Below expectations
This is a proper student pub, located right by all the uni campuses it seems to be open all the time as there is always a bustle of students outside. Drinks are cheap, bog standard bar area and drink selection. But it always smells of sweat, which really isnt nice it seems un-clean and the toilets are gross. Don't really go there often its not really my kind of pub its more rockier and indie.

Located right near the sea front opposite the Pavilion, and with very late opening hours (3 at weekends and 1 during the week), Hector's House is always bustling with the younger crowds before club nights. With loads of room to sit, a stage that regularly plays live music, and a raised DJ booth that houses many different resident music nights, Hector's is a very popular place to check out before you head on to clubs that still manages to avoid the trendy facade and clientele that many pre-club bars so annoyingly retain.
