THE PLACE TO GO

23 Jun 08, 13:40 4* Above expectations

The pressure point is not only a fantastic public house but also a fantastic vunue for the chance to see some amazing live bands, With its excellent function room above the pub it really makes a spectacular atmosphere and a truley brilliant night out without having to get taxi's or walk from bar to bar etc. You also get some fantastic mix's of people from your pint drinking builders to your champain drinking upper class but everyone gets on and has a really good night. You often find some fantastic looking women there too which always makes things into a good night!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats why this is the "venue to go for!!!!!!"

too cool for skool

Gaining a reputation as a 'serious' music venue (indeed it's rumoured Blur have played there!) it's basically a room above a pub, but has an amazing atmosphere that makes it feel very special. Entry is a bit daunting through a very narrow corridor and up some very tight, steep stairs but you think 'this is what going to the Cavern to see the Beatles must have been like' (except it's up not down!) I must admit that only having been there to see a Rock School gig, this oldster would like a few more seats, but I'm sure when it's full of it's target audience it must be a fantastic place and you do get the feeling that you're seeing the stars of tomorrow.

Pressure Point

07 Nov 07, 14:16 4* Above expectations

Pressure Point is both a pub, a gig venue and a club and thus encompasses almost all of what is great about going out in Brighton. The pub is downstairs, where drinks are fairly cheap and they do a special'Reggae and Roast' on Sunday that is very popular. If you go upstairs at the back you get to the club venue, which has always got great live acts and DJs during the week and at the weekend. Not pretentious in any way, you really feel comfortable at Pressure Point, which is why I like it so much.
