Treat yourself

14 May 08, 17:59 3* As expected

So we all know Waitrose is at the top end of the supermarket chain when it comes to quality stuff and high prices...but let's face it they do some gorgeous stuff!

This isn't a huge store but does seem to stock everything you need for your weekly shop...with extra goodies chucked in for good measure.

The only complaint I have with the Brighton branch is the location of the tills...it's always a bit chaotic and you'll never whizz through the checkouts. Never go there if you're in a hurry!

Good selection, high prices

09 May 08, 11:13 3* As expected

I'm not a Waitrose shopper normally but that's only because I find it too expensive. I don't doubt that the food is good quality but I can't bring myself to pay over the odds for something I can get a lot cheaper somewhere else.

This one is always well stocked and it's in a convenient location. It has the self-shop thing which is sometimes quicker.

Always full shelves!

25 Apr 08, 17:15 3* As expected

Unlike other supermarkets, this branch of Waitrose always makes sure the shelves are full and the food is always fresh. Good location as can pop in after a days shopping in brighton!

Naughty puddings

23 Apr 08, 13:59 4* Above expectations

Waitrose, I think, is the best supermarket there is. Lovely food, that you just can't help treating yourself to. If you shopped at Waitrose every week you'd get very fat, as you won't be able to resist, especially the puddings!

Every town/city needs one!?

17 Apr 08, 22:12 3* As expected

Every town and city needs a Waitrose so people can take their 4x4s five minutes down the road to stock up on guacamole (just ask Norman Baker MP for Lewes, sorry that's an in joke at work which nobody else will get) No seriously, you've got to respect the fair deals Waitrose does with farmers and some of the delicious speciality food. The Brighton branch will even loan you a bike trailer to take your food back with you, so leave the 4x4 at home!

Good memories

17 Apr 08, 13:46 3* As expected

Oh this store has great memories for me. Not least because one of my best friends used to work here for a few years. It has that nostalgic feel for me whenever I shop there...a bit like putting on a favourite old jumper. I go for their pain rustica bread, delicatessen anchovies and rotisserie chicken every time. Oooh, and they do plastic champagne glasses for all those beach picnics in the summer.
