Dome, Brighton

23 Jun 08, 09:40 4* Above expectations

Went to the Dome for the first time to see Just Jack and it was fantastic. Due to the size of the venue you can get really close to the band which heightens the experience. The sound is much better than the larger venues. The reason why it doesnt get 5 stars is because the drinks are way overpriced. Drink before you arrive.

Amazing Ambience

23 Jun 08, 06:28 5* Beyond expectations

The Dome is my favourite place to see live music, it has a very good ambience and the actual building is beautiful.

I went to see Scouting For Girls here and the sound & lighting was superb.

I also say Miriam Makeba during the Brighton Festival here and that was equally as good.

Excellent

Fab Venue

30 May 08, 12:33 4* Above expectations

My first visit was to see Frank Skinner and I was pleasantly surprised. The seats were comfy, the room is the perfect size so that you can actually see the performer and the bar is great for a quicky pre-show bevvy. Overall, great venue in Brighton!

Great venue

30 May 08, 11:50 4* Above expectations

I'm not a fan of the Brighton Centre as a concert venue so I was excited to go and see a concert at the Dome. It is of course the site of ABBA's famous Eurovision win with Waterloo...history lesson over

This is a superb venue, the bar area is large enough for everyone not to feel too crowded and the venue itself is great, a good view from wherever you sit.

a lovely space

I went to the Brighton and Hove Art Fair in September and had a wonderful day. It's a lovely space, a great location and the art fair was inspiring. Of course not so inspiring to my bank balance but it did mean I bought my first piece of art in the small but important collection in my house.

Best venue in Brighton

21 Apr 08, 18:24 5* Beyond expectations

The Brighton Dome is a fantastic concert venue. It's a beautiful building right in the heart of Brighton. Wherever you sit you get a good view and 'cos it's quite small you feel really close to the stars. I saw the Zutons here and the atmosphere was excellent. If you get a seat upstairs be warned you can't stand up, so if you want to dance go for a standing ticket downstairs. Oh and the bar is fantastic - really funky and fairly quick service for a concert venue.

I heart The Dome

18 Apr 08, 23:12 5* Beyond expectations

What a venue this is.

Probably the best in Brighton because of its size (big...but not too big), beautiful decor and fantastic (relatively new) bar area with its mezanine floor. Of course what really does it is the huge range of live entertainment at The Dome.

Of all the stuff on offer I love to see bands there the most. It depends who you see as to whether they leave the stalls in or not but for the most part you can pretty much choose whether you stand or sit. I saw Rufus Wainwright there last summer and that would have to go down as one of my all time favourite gigs...the fact that it was at The Dome was a huge part of that.

If you've never been I suggest you get to their website, pick something that suits your taste and get there as soon as possible. I promise you'll re-visit time and again.

Brighton Dome

18 Apr 08, 21:57 4* Above expectations

The Brighton Dome is a great venue located just of North street. The Dome puts on a range of different gigs, stand ups, pantomimes and palys. It is a large venue but inside it feels relativly small which is great because you get that intimate feeling.

The Brighton Dome

27 Oct 07, 14:50 4* Above expectations

The Dome is the home of live entertainment from the who's who of today. Second only (in size) to The Brighton Centre, The Dome puts on gigs, plays, stand-ups, orchestras you name it. Very large but yet still having a cosy feel, The Dome is the best place to see you favourite bands because despite its size it feels more intimate than other grander, yet more distant feeling venues.
