Beyond expectations
Some friends came down to visit with their young boy so we decided to do the typical kid-friendly tourist thing and went to the sea life centre. I wasn't sure what to expect because the building doesn't look very big but when we went in, there was a huge variety of sea life to see including some very exotic animals. On the day there were pprotestors outside so we got in for 50p! Had they not been there I have to admit it was a bit dear but we spent hours in there and Ben really enjoyed himself. A must for anyone that hasn't been yet as; the underwater tunnel, shark feeding and rays are quite interactive which keeps a young mind's interest.
Cool for kids - better for adults!

I took my ikkle nephew to Brighton last year and did the tourist thing. Did the Pier, the Marina - then thought - never been in the Sealife Centre.... I loved it. It's one of those attractions thats a true family attraction - secretly I think I enjoyed it more than my little nephew. You'll discover weird and wonderful sealife from all over the world, they've a research centre too which looks into saving rare species - but the best bit is the tunnel.... you go under the waves and walk through a massive underwater world.... sharks, fish galore - it's truly amazing. Also check out the "rays" tanks - but don't touch em!

The sealife centre works out really expensive for the whole family - a friend of mine described it as a rip-off, I don't think I'd go that far. It is a bit disapointing in parts 'cos some of areas are a bit sparse as you wander round. However, the show featuring the turtles is really great. Avoid the shop at the end, it's expensive.

Ok, if you're taking a family, it probably will work out quite pricey... but if it's raining and there's no other choice, the Brighton Sea Life Centre is well worth a visit.
If you're lucky, you get to feed some of the fish yourself... but my favourite part of the centre experience has to be the tunnel you walk through... you actually feel like you're underwater with sharks and loads of other fish swimming around your head.
Don't bother buying the guide though, it's a waste of money. There are signs on all the tanks telling you what sort they all are. Watch out for Nemo!
