As expected
I have been a member at Dragons now L A Fitness, for 8 years. The club is very friendly and very close to the seafront making it easy to combine a run with your workout. The gym staff are always on hand to offer advice and motivation. There is a great social side to the club with the new owners of the brasserie offering a varied menu and entertainment evenings. I have spent many Saturday afternoons at the club with friends when the weather is good sitting on the terrace. Unfortunately, the parking is a downside but where isn't in Brighton and Hove!

Below expectations
This branch of LA Fitness needs updating badly. The whole building is quite old and shabby and the machines are always breaking and out of order. There are also not enough machines. You often have to wait for a machine. The changing rooms are pretty dirty at times and the pool is tiny! The parking is also a nightmare - not enough space! The saving grace is that the staff are really friendly and the classes are great!

Below expectations
I really want to like this gym...but it's really hard to. The people are friendly enough, but I just haven't connected with it. The radio's never loud enough in the changing room, so I can't hear Southern FM's Danny and Nicky in the Morning loud enough after I've had my workout and I'm getting showered, which is always frustrating as it's my favourite breakfast show! But that's not the only reason - it just feels like it needs a bit of customer love. Remove the sardine-packed spinning bikes from the studio so you don't have to be splattered by the bloke sweating profusely next to you. Clean the mirrors in the treadmill room a bit better please, and get more parking. Please.
