Truly wonderful food like I have never tasted before. I have visited Indian Summer, Kingsway, Hove on a few occassions now, and have not been disappointed, I can't remember the names of the dishes that I have had but all were very exciting and different. We have taken our friends there and all say the same, they can't wait to return.
Whether you go with an Argus voucher or paying full price the welcome is always the same. The staff are really pleased to see you and welcome you back like old friends.
Can't wait till I go again, will never tire of this restaurant
This restaurant is querky and modern - be adventurous!

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time to use our Argus vouchers - 2 can dine for £10.
At first from the outside, Indian Summer looked quite dark and uninviting, but once you get inside, the ambiance is quite cosy and romantic - with dimmed lighting (but not too dark) and candles.
Although the tables are quite close together, I didn't feel like our privacy was being invaded by other diners at all during the evening, and it was a very calm atmosphere. It is probably not the best place for children as there is no room to wander around etc, but it is ideal for couples or small groups.
Once seated, we were given the menus at which point both me and my boyfriend looked at each other with quite concerned looks as it was very wordy with things we had never heard of before! However, I had the crushed potatoes and green pea cakes to start, and my boyfriend the red onion and spinach pakora (if I remember correctly), both of which tasted of onion bahjees -very well spiced though, and packed with flavour.
For main course, we both chose the 'murgh achari quorma' as this sounded the closest to a good old-fashioned curry! It was presented very well and, again, tasted wonderful - just like a traditional Kurma you would recognise.
Although desserts weren't included in the Argus deal, we couldn't resist them! They are all homemade - I had the tia maria chocolate tart, and my boyfriend had the white chocolate cheesecake. They really were melt-in-your-mouth.
The courses were a little on the small side, so after all 3 courses we felt reasonably full, but not stuffed. Mind you, my boyfriend and I are big eaters...!
There was perfect timing in between the courses, and the staff were very helpful; whilst at the same time they left you in peace to enjoy your meal, rather than constantly checking to see if you are OK.
Overall I think if you are in the mood to try something new and unique, modern and packed with flavour, then this is your place. The prices are reasonable, and generally a lovely, peaceful evening. I would definately go back, even if it is just to have another dessert! Highly recommended!

Indian Summer in Hove serves proper authentic indian food at decent prices (the Hove branch is cheaper than the Brighton one!). I recommend the Bhel Puri which is yum! The staff are lovely too and always make you feel welcome. One of my favourite Indian restaurants in Hove.
