Pub!

14 May 08, 20:37 4* Above expectations

This is a generally nice pub, not showy at all, its known for its good footie atmosphere and is great to go watch the games and pretend you actually care who's winning. The drinks are pretty reasonable and they do great cocktails. Its always busy and always has a friendly atmosphere, the seating area outside is really nice and very relaxing on a lazy sunday afternoon!

Clicky

05 May 08, 19:23 2* Below expectations

This pub is the one of the very few pubs that shows live football, and it does that well, in fact, as far as I can make out, it's the only reason to go in there. It's not got a great feel to it, unless you're one of the landlords mates, and then you'll have a blinding time (scuse the pun) A bit too clicky for me

pubbing it!

25 Apr 08, 11:25 5* Beyond expectations

The Busker, as I like to call it, is a wicked pub in hove. I suppose i love it so much coz I've been going for years and its changed its name several times, however, im quite enjoying the name 'Blind Busker', as Im often blind when i leave there! The drinks are a decent price, and the FOOD, well its amazing! You have to try the nachos if you ever go, they come in a huge bowl with loads of melted cheese....mmmmmmm!!! All the big footie games are shown here, and there's a really good atmosphere all the time!

A Pubby Pub

24 Apr 08, 16:57 3* As expected

This pub is not glossy, or showy. It's just a great pub for beer, football and your mates! Have enjoyed a few messy evenings there and vaguely remember they do some good jugs of cocktails! I have heard the food is not so hot but it's a great place for a few beers after work. Also, there's quite a nice area outside which is a real sun trap.

Average pub

18 Apr 08, 09:53 3* As expected

The Blind Busker is ok really.

It's up the road from where I live and they show all the big football games...it gets rammed on these occasions and a bit moist (!) I've only eaten there a couple of times and was pretty underwhelmed by all accounts. It is very cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for.

It is probably the most central pub for me and my mates in Hove so we do end up going there quite a lot. I like the layout of the place as it has lots of different sections so it has a nice atmosphere about it...and the staff seem friendly too.

A perfect local

12 Apr 08, 16:54 4* Above expectations

I love this place. It's the first choice for watching football, big screen, big plasma tv and 2 other small tv's as well, plenty of seats as well although it does get quite busy. One secret that you might not have known is that you can reserve a table to watch the game which is a great service they offer, sometimes there is table service for drinks so you don't even need to get up!

Food here is really good, the Sunday roasts, the baked camembert, the sandwiches, the burgers...everything is good and served quickly but not at the expense of quality. The staff are friendly and attentive, the prices are ok for food, the beer is quite pricey though.

They also do cashback which is better than having a cash machine which charges you £1-50 every time. The Sunday night pub quiz is enjoyable as well.

Great for football

11 Apr 08, 10:06 4* Above expectations

This pub is always busy and has a great atmosphere when there's football on. It can sometimes be hard to find a seat if they're showing a big game, but we now reserve a table the day before to make sure we get a good view - they prefer it if you buy food but it's not essential. It also means they serve you drinks at the table, instead of having to queue at the bar.

Good pub quiz

20 Mar 08, 15:32 3* As expected

They have a good pub quiz on a Sunday night, maybe I'm only saying that 'cos we won it three weeks in a row not so long ago! You win a tab behind the bar which we used to buy a sunday lunch which was good, not amazing but I've had much worse. They also show live football and have a buzzing atmosphere during a big game.
