Staff aren't THAT friendly...

...but maybe they were just having a bad day when I went!!
The betting is quite confusing if you've not been before... so you do have to ask for help... but this is such a good, cheap, fun night out, it's hard to complain really...
Food isn't great either (we had the basket meal). You can sit down and have a proper meal... I guess that's better but is more expensive obviously.

OK, so you come here for the dogs experience, enjoy that because it is fun. The betting confuses me but I'm a bit simple so that might be why.
The food is absolutely repulsive and the customer service isn't much better, one of my friends was sworn at for not knowing how to put on a bet...so that could be better. But to be honest, you make do with that because it is a cheap fun night out.

Gone to the dogs

When you think of the going to the dogs you think of flat capped racing fanatcis and bookmakers shouting.
The reality is that it is a great day/evening out. The stadium boasts a capacity over 2000 with a restuarant for 480 people. There is even a health club.
Races take place on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday evenings.
Go on try it!"

The first and only time I've ever been to the dogs was a fun night overall. It took me a while to understand the betting arrangements and the man serving on the tote wasn't too keen to help me out but I muddled through and managed to lose approximately 20 pounds. The drinks kept flowing and the bar staff were really friendly and fast. I was startled by the speed of the hounds.

I'm certainly not what you'd call a regular at the Dogs in Hove but its by far & away the best I've been to in the UK.
In terms of budget it isn't a big drain on the pocket. Special deals for entry, food & drinks can be purchased online for most nights there is a race night on (approx £10).
Or you can go all out and book a seat in one of the restaurant seats which are located right in front of the final straight. 3 course deals are available, together with full table service for drinks & bets on the Tote.
Always a great atmosphere the only grumble I do have is that Tote betting brings very little monetary reward (particularly if your biggest bet is only £2!!!)

We went with work and had the Six Pack deal - that includes (wait for it, deep breath!) admission and racecard, a basket meal, 2 free drinks, a free jackpot bet (very complicated if you've had a few beers!?) and a scratchcard. And all that for £10! Recommended for a fun night out with friends, just don't expect the bookies to smile!

We are lucky to have such a great stadium in Hove and it seems from the amount of people there on a standard Thursday night I'm a litte bit slow on t he up take.
The atmosphere is good and the racetrack fabulous. However don't go for the food or the customer service.
Pull on your jeans and grab a fiver and you can have a top night out with some friends,

Been here a few times, each time with a big group of people. It's always been a good laugh and a bit of a contest to see who wins the most cash wise! They do good deals 2 nights a week with entry, basket meal, tote bet and drink for a tenner, definitely one for a cheap night out!

I was pleasantly surprised by my visit here, for a Thursday night it was extremely busy with a fantastic atmosphere. Despite not being seated in the restaurant area, we all still managed to find a table with good views. Access out to the track is easy, so you can nip out to watch whatever race you've bet on. The tote's were a little grumpy but I think this is the same whichever one you visit! Despite not winning on a single race I still had a thouroughly good evening and would recommend here to any who fancies a different night out.

Want a works night out with a difference - then book yourself a night at the dogs. We're all still talking about the great time we had, and that despite only a few of us backing any winners! The huge restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere and the food was hot and tasty. No need to head for the bookies downstairs either, as all your bets and collected at your table as you take in all the pre race parade or tuck into your meal.
I know very little about form (probably best really!) and use varying quirky ways of selecting my dogs to back from those that wag their tail in the parade or whichever one relieves itself before the race. Consequently I rarely head home with as much money as I had arrived with.
My tip is to only take the ammount of money you're preapred to lose, and if you've got any of that left after the last race then you've had a right result.
Book your lot in for a night at the dogs and you and your workmates are already on a winner.

WICKED NIGHT OUT!!!!

Beyond expectations
You just cannot go wrong with a night out at the dog track in Hove. I'm not exactly a regular but probably go two or three times a year and have just the best time every time. Maybe that's because I'm very sensible with bets and never lose a fortune...
You can have any kind of night you like at Coral...whether it's a loud one at the bar stood up with the all the other excitable punters cheering your dog on at the top of your lungs...or maybe you'll plump for a table near the back and make your bets whilst scoffing your basket meal. You can go out and stand right next to the track too of course.
Then there's the restaurant. Great views of the track from the HUGE window. The only time you leave your table is for the loo...they bring your food...your drinks...take your bets AND bring your winnings without you having to move a muscle. The food is decent and there's loads of....they do a set menu in the restaurant itself.
Go with your work mates...go with your friends...go with your partner...go with your mum & dad.
Just go!
