Family and adults all welcome

Great food at good prices, with a large selection for children and adults. Have sketch boards for children to play with and super drinks for them. Adults can dine in a seperate area if no kids with a super veiw over the sea. Service is great quick and freindly, great music and tv playing great music or surfing scenes.

Mmmmmm ........... burgers

Only visited once, but well worth a return visit.

Visited at lunchtime with several work colleagues, and there was something for everyone in the group. The variety of Burgers is extensive and the sides cover all eventualities .... skinny fries, fat chips, onion rings, or 'frings', a combination of fries & onion rings!

You can have a beer, a coke or one of their amazing shakes in what is a perfectly themed American diner.

Very popular with families at the weekend so be prepared to wait .... its worth it........

YUM!

This is a great place to visit if you've got the hunger - the choice of burgers is incredible and there's a real authentic Diner feel to the place. It's a little bit out of the way but then that means it doesn't get too busy. Having said that, I've never been in the evening so it may be a different story.

Loving the coke float!

Absolutely brilliant American diner, where the burgers are authentic, and the staff straight from Grease...

The portion sizes are good... there's a burger to suit every taste on the menu. You can chose fries or onion rings... or frings - a bit of both. I also love the coke float...

Usually quite easy to park as it's a bit further up the seafront.

Oh. Yeah. Baby.

Yet another great breakfast place in the Hove area...there are plenty of them...but Woodies has its own special twist.

It's as authentic an American Diner as it can be considering it's in East Sussex...black & white tiled floor...50s inspired art...a huge juke box as you walk in the door...oh and waitresses in cute white 50s outfits & plimsolls. My male friends seem to like going there A LOT.

The breakfasts are outstanding...they do a gigantic fry-up...or you could try the pancake stacks instead drowned in maple syrup. Heaven. Then there's the shakes. Oh and the burgers. Yum! They come with tinsell sticks stuck in the top and little American flags. I'm so excited at the thought I'm going to have to go for a lie-down...

Uber burgers

I love this diner, apart from the fact I always leave and have to go to sleep for a few hours which is a waste of an afternoon! Great burgers, and the decor is fab! perfect for it's location.

Love it!

I've only been here once but fully intend to return several times. It was the perfect antidote to a monster hangover post christmas party. The best thing is the choice of fries or onion rings... ..if you want both you have to order frings. You can't actually say "can I have fries and onion rings please?". No. You have to say "can I have frings please?" and then they will say "yes" and bring you fries and onion rings. This isn't at all annoying. It's fun. OK?! Aside from that it makes for a very authentic American dining experience. Great choice of burgers and other dishes. It's well worth catching a bus or driving out of the city centre.

Grease is the word

Sandy and Danny would love Woodies Diner...! The whole American diner theme is completely OTT and almost a bit naff, but it works. The burgers are the best thing on the menu and you can get fries, onion rings or frings (see what they did there!?!) The chocolate milkshakes are gorgeous, and they will put vodka in your milkshake if you like. They also do a very good root beer (so I'm told, I don't like it myself) I'd recommend it for a birthday lunch with the crowd from work, or take the kids - they'll love it. It does get busy on a weekend.

Great before midday

16 Apr 08, 17:57 2* Below expectations

Breakfasts are the way forward at Woodies. I have fond memories of a first date over breakfast here (I'm glad to say with my current boyfriend - now fiance!), so that may have influenced how good the food tasted at the time. I have been back on several occasions and tried to enjoy the lunch menu, but I would recommend just sticking to it before midday and you won't go wrong. Fantastic kitsch waitresses and decor, v. 50's.

Everything an American Diner should be, and more!

15 Apr 08, 23:08 4* Above expectations

Within a stone's throw of the homes and private beaches of the rich and famous in Hove is a very authentic-looking American Diner and surf shop. It sells boards, beach sandals, you name it. The waves in Hove are not exactly Waikiki standard but this place seems to do a good trade. Next door is Woodies Diner, a self consciously Americanoid establishment with waitresses dressed in american 50's outfits, and a checkerboard floor and squeaky glittery plastic seats... fantastic!

Good Points: Best American diner locally.

Bad Points: Can be on the pricey side, VERY busy at busy periods, and no table booking is possible.
