So the Vic isn't the nicest pub in the world but it serves its purpose. You can get a nice cold shandy and sit outside in the beer garden sunning yourself during your lunch break. What more could you want?

A Pub's Pub!

The Vic is what you'd class as a 'proper pub' - sticky carpets and all! The drinks are cheap, the staff are nice and the food is traditional but also cheap. Their karaoke nights prove popular, with many regulars enjoying the mic! Good place to go for after work drinks and one of the few that provide quite well for the smokers.

one scary pub

If you want to see how scared you can be on a Friday night this may be the place to head - the locals don't like outsiders and will make this known to you - saying that for a pub lunch it is pretty cheap and the food is hot and fresh!

The Vic is a straightforward boozer with prices to match. So if you fancy a drink before you get on the train at Portslade/or after arriving, then you might as well save your time walking anywhere else and have a pint with the locals here.Friday nights is karaoke night.after a few pints this can turn into a cracking laugh.

The nicest pub in Portslade

I wouldn't normally drink in Portslade, I'd rather head down the road to Hove.
However if you fancy staying local and nipping out for a quick drink after work then The Victoria is your best bet.
It has a nice atmosphere and the drinks are pretty cheap - which is always a goods thing!

Great put if you want your spit and sawdust type pub. Food is your standard pub fare and is good. Have fond memories of a group of us from work on saturday night singing Portslade to the tune 'New york New York'
You'd be surprised

This is actually a decent place in terms of cost of drinks, cost and quality of food and the fact it has a pool table, darts and a jukebox.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't make a concerted to go there, it's not that good, but for a boozer near work and the train station should you be unfortunate enough to be stranded in Portslade, it's ok!!
The drinks are cheap, since the smoking ban it's no longer a vile smoke filled pub, the food is good for the very cheap prices and for those rare sunny days, there is a decent beer garden/terrace.
So all in all, it's really not as bad as it should be but don't go if you want luxury!

Always an experience...

This pub is always an experience. I think that it's just a straight forward pub, no frills, decent prices and they do a lovely jacket potato at lunchtime! There's always seating inside and it's a whole heap less scary than the pub on the other side of the level crossing.

The after work pub of choice....

... for one reason - location, location, location. The Victoria is the best pub we have found within walking distance of work (but that's not saying much!) No seriously, it is a pretty standard old man's pub. You can always get a seat. There are some interesting locals and a meat raffle on a Friday!!
