As expected
This is a good branch of Tesco and if you don't expect too much, it ticks all the boxes.
It's got a good selection of ready made sandwiches, although they seem to have stopped doing the 'just cheese' variety - i know i'm boring but sometimes you don't want the fuss of pickles etc do you?!
The ladies on the hot deli counter are really good fun and always up for a chat. I'd highly recommend the cumberland sausages served here.
There's no Orange signal in store... but to be fair, you're only in there for minutes, so it doesn't matter too much.

As expected
First the good points...it has everything you need, it sometimes has better offers than it's bigger but worse off store on Church Road, it has the convenient self service tills and there is a cash point outside.
Now the bad points....you don't get reception on Orange inside, there is a blower at the door that can ruin your hairdo, the trolley man is odorous, it's in Portslade, the layout is a bit odd with less aisle space and a lot of everyday stuff lined up along the back wall
Overall, it's a decent Tesco

Above expectations
This is a great little Tesco and I'd rather shop here than it's bigger sister in Hove. It not like other tescos 'cos it seems to have bogof deals that don't exist at other branches and random reduced clothes on rails!? The carpark with lifts into the store (one of which is out of action) is a bit of a multi-storey nightmare. You're better walking and bringing your baglife, then you can leave feeling all green and good about yourself.

You don't really need to know what it is like as you will already know if you have ever been in a tesco - samey same - smaller so might not stock everything you need - staff are the portsalde variety so don't expect them to understand when you ask them any questions. get in and out fast from this one and don't make eye contact.
