Lovely Lunch

31 Oct 07, 09:31 4* Above expectations

If you want to eat a beautifully cooked, 3 course meal in small cozy retaurant this is the place for you. I can only review the lunch menu as that is all I have ever eaten here and I can highly recommend it, it also offers better value for money. Augustine's offers a set lunch 2 courses for £15 or 3 courses for £17. Housed in a Georgian town house it has a nice intimate feel, seating about 20 people without being claustrophobic. Located just outside of the city walls and a stones throw away from one of Canterbury's world heritage sites - St Augustines Abbey. Where possible local organic ingredients are used in all the dishes. The food is always beautifully presented and delicious. Being fine dining the portions are not huge but are sufficient for the average appetite. The staff are friendly without being intrusive.
