Ghostly Afternoon Tea!

Tiny Tim's Tearoom is located in the heart of Canterbury city centre in a building claimed to be one of Canterbury's most haunted buildings. The history of Tiny Tim's Tearoom is outlined on the menus, according to legend, during restoration of the building the ghosts of children were disturbed and they now roam the building! Visitors to the tearoom are encouraged to look around the building and see the original features that remain. There is even a ghost room for the very brave! The interior of the tearoom is tastefully decorated in black and white with chandeliers and a piano. On the menu there are cream teas, afternoon teas, a wide selection of scones and cakes and some light lunches. Where possible local produce is used and the menu changes to reflect the produce available depending on the season. As you would expect you can choose from an array of teas most of which are leaf teas. The service is always friendly but be warned Tiny Tim's gets very busy so get there early especially on a Saturday. As far as tea and cake goes this is fairly expensive however, I think it is worth paying a little extra money. Everything you have is served beautifully, you don't just get a cup of tea you get presented with a full tea set which I adore. You also get quite a lot for your money, tea for one generally provides you with 3 good cups of tea. My mum and I had afternoon tea for 2 a few weeks a ago and we ended up taking some home with us, it would have easily served 3.
Service with a 1920's smile.

This place is pure gold, I mean that literally. Since it opened in the summer of 2007 it has been very, very popular. It has the typical mix of any establishment in Canterbury of half tourists and half locals. The building is listed and very quaint, it has the additional feature of the upstairs 'ghost room' - a bit of a tourist attraction if you ask me. But that aside the food and service are second to none. It is a 1920's inspired tearoom with the staff dressed in black and white uniforms. The decor is all very British and really compliments the building. Their selections of teas and cakes is extensive and very seasonal. They offer high teas and afternoon teas and anything else you desire. The high teas are lovely and all served on pristine white china. Very friendly and efficient staff on hand to make the whole thing very enjoyable. A real treat - the raspberry and apple scones are to die for!
