Above expectations
I totally disagree with the other reviewers on here. I've always had a good time at Hollywood Bowl. They bring your drinks to you while you play and the staff have always been great, in fact quite a laugh. Queues do get a bit long, but they go down quickly. Had a stuck lane once, and they sprung into action to fix the fault. From my point of view - it's always been 8/10 when I've been there!

Below expectations
I second Claire M's review on this. The facilities at Hollywood Bowl are up to standard but the place just can't cope when it gets busy, mainly because of staff shortages. Food took ages to arrive once ordered, it took forever for anyone to come when the lanes broke and don't even get me started on service at the bar.. ....awful.

Well below expectations
... and considering I once went bowling in Boston in the US where there were no computers and you had to work out your score yourself... that is saying something!! We went on a Friday night and it was total madness. The queue was practically out the door and even if you'd booked you had to queue up. They tried their hardest but they were SO short staffed it was nuts. Everything, even getting a drink, took ages... it was awful.
