a great place to take friends when visiting Eastbourne

Nothing can compete with the many memories I have as a drunken teenager spent at the "Odyssey" nightclub on the Pier here. However, despite the fact that the Odyssey is now long gone, along with my teenage drinking, it still has a a night club at the end of it and is still a great place to take friends when visiting Eastbourne.
I love those 2p machines...

but I miss the Balloon Factory... what a great place that was!!
Eastbourne Pier is a close second to Brighton Pier... it's well kept, like the whole of Eastbourne seafront... (did you know Queen Victoria made a rule that there couldn't be any arcades or shops along the seafront, and it remains today... that's why when you look at Eastbourne seafront from the end of the pier, all you'll see is hotels)
The club on the end is big, but full of young ones.

Looks wise, Eastbourne pier is impressive. It's well kept, with beautiful gardens (Award winning) either side. The paintwork on the pier is all kept fresh and clean, making it look one of the better piers I've visited. There's plenty on the pier but it doesn't quite match up with Brighton's. There is a great arcade to keep kids amused and plenty of places to snack. Also, the club at the end is a pretty large venue.

As piers go - it's a good one.

When you compare it to Britain's premier resorts, Eastbourne Pier stands up pretty well. Bournemouth's looks shabby with nothing more than village hall on the end of it, Blackpool doesn't even have one! Brighton's Palace Pier is the leader, however with a great arcade on, ice cream shops plus fish and chip bars at the front and a night club at the end, Eastbourne Pier is worth a visit.
