5 reviews for The Rodmill

Great place

08 May 08, 16:09 3* As expected

The Rodmill has recently been done up and is now a great place to while away a sunny afternoon. The inside is light and airy and there's plenty of seating outside to enjoy a sunny day. The menu is really good, with a great choice of traditional pub grub. And, as most of my male friends will tell you, it's great for talent spotting as there is a sixth form college opposite with plenty of women wandering past!

Don't judge a pub by it's outside

05 May 08, 10:53 3* As expected

Doesn't look great from the outside - infact it looks pretty horrid. It actually used to ber pretty horrid. Been redone now and is actually OK inside. Little car park at the side of the pub which is handy. Handily placed for the DGH if you don't fancy the grub at the Friends of the Hospital cafe.

Big and airy

25 Apr 08, 12:11 3* As expected

When I lived in Eastbourne, this was my local. I also went to college nearby... so spent rather a lot of time in here...

it's much improved over the last couple of years... with plenty of seating... it feels big and airy- you're certainly not sitting on top of anyone.

Food is good pub grub. Gets quite busy on a Saturday afternoon - a fair few of the football teams that play at nearby Hampden Park come in for a pint or two after their games... but generally fairly quiet at other times.

Comfortable cosy local

The Rodmill is a very good pub. Comfortable seating. Good food and lovely staff. The atmosphere is cosy, there are no noisy televisions or sports mad fans - great.

Good lunchtime pub

19 Apr 08, 17:12 3* As expected

I used to work at the college across the road from The Rodmill so it was great to pop to for lunch when there was a birthday in the office...or for any other reason for that matter.

It's a big pub with plenty of seating and lots of different sections so you don't feel like you're rattling about in there. It had a full re-fit in the past couple of years so it's comfortable and clean. The pub grub is decent and pretty cheap too...just all round good value.
