Proper English pub

Above expectations
OK so I'm a little biased because I grew up on Swanwick Lane and worked at the Elm Tree for many years all through college and university but you really can't go wrong here.
The Elm is a lovely, traditional, cosy, welcoming pub. Pure & simple. It could probably do with a lick of paint inside but who really cares when it's such a nice place to spend a few hours. There's a public bar at the front...then you walk through the low beamed doorway out to the lounge bar and restaurant. The food is decent and reasonably priced and they serve a wide range of real ales too if that's your sort of thing. The garden is really lovely in the summer too. Well worth a visit...and that's not just my nostalgia talking I promise!
