The Hook and Hatchet Inn is set high up on the North Downs a few miles from Leeds Castle near Maidstone in Kent. Approached only by single track roads it is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is adjacent to the 600 acres of the Hucking Estate owned by the Woodland Trust..

We have large gardens and 2 acres of gently sloping field and we welcome walkers cyclists and horse riders, we even have hitching facilities for 6 horses. Horseboxes may be parked by arrangement.

We can cater for functions, barbecues and picnics, meetings and parties. Group bookings are always welcome.

We can also supply an outside bar service with a full range of drinks, experienced staff and pub prices.
Price rating: Mid-range

Hook and Hatchet

09 Apr 08, 17:30 4* Above expectations

A lovely tradional English pub set in the Kent Country side just off the A249. It grabbed the headlines a few years back when a van used in ''that'' Tunbridge Wells robbery was found abandoned in its car park. Graham Norton even talked about it on his TV show...

Signs for it can be seen from the A249 (just before Lilly Spice going towards Maidstone). Admittedly, its a bit off the beaten track, but thats what makies it even more special.

It offers a lovely bar area as well as a newly decorated resaurant serving a variety of food from fresh fish to vegetarian specials.

They also boast the 'Best Sunday Lunch in Kent'...why not give it a go?
