If you're looking for somewhere in the Hassocks area for a nice lunchtime snack or pub meal, you could do a lot worse than The Friars Oak.
I've always had good meals there, I think the value is good...and there is a lovely outside area to sit out if (and when) we have good weather.

The Friars Oak in Hassocks is a great pub with a good atmosphere. It is spacious and very accomodating for groups. They do really good value lunches. Have an excellent beer garden and ample parking.

Great Sunday roast

Above expectations
A friend introduced me to this pub a couple of years ago, and I've yet to find many others that do such a good Sunday roast...
Be prepared to wait for half hour as it gets very busy... it's a good idea to turn up a while before you want to eat and have a drink at the bar. You do get a big portion for a very reasonable price - definitely value for money.
It's a bit off the beaten track, but parking is easy, perfect if you're off out for a drive into the country. There's lovely garden for those summer afternoons as well.

A nice pub

As expected
I'd been before and really enjoyed it, a nice pub in a pleasant location with an open fire which is always appealing.
The menu is the same as other pubs in this chain which has a good choice unless you are vegetarian. The service is always friendly and quick and the price isn't bad either. A nice place to stop if you're passing
