5 reviews for Waitrose

great nosh

30 May 08, 16:20 4* Above expectations

I aspire to shop in waitrose all of the time. Its posh nosh for the upwardly mobile. I love the dli counter and the cakes are great too. Its very pricey and thats what puts people off but nice if you are having a dinner party or at crimbo when you push the boat out.

Good service too.

Expensive

I don't see the attraction overly to Waitrose, they sell own made products at high prices. Yes its nice, but I'd prefer to buy McVities jaffa cakes at 40p cheaper for example.

You can never park out the front either. It just seems an expensive hassle to me.

The food is quality though.

Expensive but best quality

23 Apr 08, 19:21 4* Above expectations

If you have the money, then Waitrose in the way forward. My partner shops in here, not that the likes of me can afford such luxury. I'm more a netto girl and I'm not ashamed to say it. The staff are really friendly though and as food shopping goes (yawn!) it's one of the most chilled places to do it. Quality is second to none too.

Expensive And Smells Of The Aged

23 Apr 08, 00:21 2* Below expectations

I really hate this supermarket! Sorry, but I do. The prices are stupidly high yet there isnt the choice to justify it. The interior is dated and uninspiring and I dont feel like I fit in with the much older demographic of their main customers (thats more polite than what I originally wrote). Give it a miss unless you really want to waste your pension.

Good old fashioned service

21 Apr 08, 10:19 3* As expected

Yep, as expected the staff are friendly and helpful in this store. The fittings are a bit creaky, could do with an update and parking's always tricky in busy periods.

There's free parking for two hours outside but the location makes it too popular!
