Overpriced for what you get

This hotel is a huge historic hotel in Oxford, however for me it is over rated. Its nice but nothing more than that. The drinks are overpriced and having had a christmas party there were I had to literally climb out of my seat to get us as the seats were so closed together its not a place I rate.

Afternoon Tea

01 May 08, 22:31 4* Above expectations

I took my mum here for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were great and so was the tea.

There was a load of sandwiches and cakes and it's much nicer than your average starbucks. Certainly worth it for a bit of class in Oxford

Superb

This is a superb hotel, very nicely decorated and the staff are very helpful and friendly. They also hire rooms for functions or conferences. They are centrally located in Oxford.

Which hotel in Oxford hasn't Morse been filmed at?

I went to the premiere of Oxford Murders with John Hurt in April 2008 and was very impressed with the staff but I do have to say for a 5***** hotel I was expecting a little more. Not sure what, I shouldn't judge the hotel on just one conference room I visited.

However, my nephew is holding his wedding reception here in Septemer 2008 so I will be back to update my review then. Once I have sampled the food, slept the night and received royalty treatment.

If it is as good as they say it is, I will look into having the works Christmas Party here.

Come back to read more please........

I havent stayed here, but recently doing an event at the odean next door in the Odean, the door staff and reception were very helpful and couldnt do enough for me.

The place looks amazing inside aswell and i can imagine the rooms look ace.

Its located right in the heart of Oxfordshire so your near everything, but this is reflected in the price, which is very expensive.

There are resturants there and a spa, so if your after luxury you will get it here.
