Beyond expectations
We went here for my sisters 30th Birthday, it was amazing. The hotel is aconverted prison which sounds really rubbish and spooky but it is definatley worth a visit. It has been done to such a high standard, the interior and the furnishing is gorgeous. We sat outside in the courtyard for drinks which was lovely, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The bar upstairs is really cool for some late night drinks... definately worth a visit.

i was never an inmate you understand! we filmed mean machine there with vinny jones!
this hotel is breath-taking. simply a stunning location.
you have to visit to see what they have done to the old prison.
the bar is something to behold in itself - you'll feel like a footballer in there (a better one than vinny jones anyway) visit - it deserves it

Beyond expectations
This used to be Oxford Prison, but don't let that put you off. It's stunning, beautifully quiet, and seductively styled. The rooms are spacious (no they're not like a cell)
There's a bar in the hotel that featured in the recent episodes of Lewis that is stunning. It's head and shoulders above all the other bars in Oxford for sheer class and not full of foppish students talking about Keats and Shelley and hammering cheap cider down their necks... perfect
