Yummy with Mummy

My parent live near here and when we go for a 'moochy poochy around the shoppy whoppys' (my Mum's terminology!) we almost always grab a bite to eat here for lunch if we are feeling like spoiling ourselves. Yes it is 'just' an ASK but it the service is quick, you are sat far enough apart from your fellow diners, not to have their elbows in your waist and it looks quite pretty as well.
This is a nice place to have lunch or dinner, I'm always cold when I go there but normal people will probably be fine. There salads are epic if you haven't been to an ASK before I would recommend these, that and the garlic bread.

right in the centre of Reading ASK never disappoints. The service is excellant and the food is always freshly cooked in full view of the diners so you know its fresh. It gets busy quickly so you need to book at weekends especially. The decor is clean, crisp and modern.

Ask is one of a chain of Italian Restaurants but they do things fairly well considering their chain status. The food it always good and fairly priced. They have a really good wine list. My only hang up with the Ask in Reading is that it misses that family feeling which you get at the Dolce Vita. Even Zizzi's staff are a bit more charismatic in my opinion. Given the choice I'd still pick Ask over Pizza Express if I was going out for dinner but they need to work on the service a little. Saying that the service is at least efficient so if you were just looking for somewhere for an informal speedy business lunch it might be a good option for you.
