Great choice

Sports shop with great choice, the staff aren't usually very helpful and you struggle to find someone to assisst you at the best of times but their prices are really good and the range of sports goods, clothes, trainers etc is huge.

This place is a bit cavernous and the staff are not always that polite, but all you need from a shop like this really is good prices and a decent range, and Sports World has definitely got those. You can't miss it in the Oracle.

The cheap sports shop

SportsWorld is in the Oracle shopping centre in Reading. It sells a wide range of sports goods at relatively low prices. It is a privately owned store with branches in the UK and Belgium. When I am in town I will always visit SportsWorld for bargains. They seem to have a permanent sale on here. When I asked the shop staff about this, they told me it is because they have ex-stock from all sorts of retailers and sell it at a fraction of the price. They show the original price and the new price next to this - a clever ploy as you get seduced by the idea of saving. I have bought shorts, sports vests and sports bras from here, the Diadora and LA Gear ranges, and they have been about 1/3 of the original price. They have worn well, and have been comfortable. I also bought a lovely pair of beach shorts for around half the original price and they are absolutely great. However, do be careful. I have bought shorts that were cheap, but also incredible uncomfortable. As well as sports wear they seem to stock some types of general wear such as trousers and beach wear. They also do sports accessories and stock trainers, socks, footballs, tennis rackets, squash rackets to name a few. This shop is definitely worth a look, not just for the sports minded, but also for families. You can pick up some decent children and teenagers clothes here and adults clothes if you like the casual, sporty look. They definitely don't look cheap. They are good quality and wear well. The shop is always teeming with people and a gem in the otherwise quite expensive Oracle. I give it 5 stars for this. SportsWorld can be found in the Oracle Shopping Centre, tel: 0870 333 9505.
