Went to Cafe Mumbai on saturday night and had a great meal. Friendly staff, convenient location in and around Bedford Place, and good value.

The staff were nice, and were even happy to serve the food in the sofa area.

I will definately eat there again

I have been to Cafe Mumbai 3 times in the past week and the food and service was outstanding each time. The sitar music playing created a real indian atmosphere and was tanquill calming and soothing all th the same time. The restaurant provides an A La Carte menu as well as a very good buffet meal. The food is amazing I am asian and so I know the difference between a good curry and a real great curry. The buffet provides 6 starters in total each as exquisite in taste as the other. I was disappointed poppodoms were not offered as part of the buffet set meal until I was told all you need to do was ask and you got them. Chicken tikka lamb tikka lamb chops Bhajis samosas spring rolls and if that wasnt enough there is a fantastic selection of salds and sauces dips and chutneys to accompany. The meain meals where equally as good with 4 different styles of lamb 4 different styles of chicken prawns and vegetable currys on offer. The dishes were served with plain or pilau basmati and naan bread. It didnt stop there a varied selection of indian sweets and icecream for desert and the best thing is that you can eat as much as you like. Drinks were not included in the buffet meal but they were brought to teh table and service with a smile and efficient all the time. The best in southampton for indian so far!
