Beyond expectations
This pub has got the friendliest service I have ever experienced. I turned up here very thirsty after a very long bike ride. The landlord and lady had just shut up shop after a busy lunchtime and they opened up their bar again just so I could get a drink. I urge you to pay this wonderful pub a visit. I am going back again very soon to enjoy the menu which looked lovely.

Above expectations
I've taken a trip out to the Plough & Harrow at Litlington a few times and it's well worth the drive. You get to it by turning off the A259 just east of the Exceat bridge before Seven Sisters Country Park and just follow the narrow country lane...you'll come across it eventually.
It's in a beautiful spot...Litlington is a sleepy country village with stunning Sussex Downs surroundings. They do good quality English pub food...including great roasts. You're made to feel very welcome by the hosts and it's clear that the pub's a popular one as it's always busy at weekends without being crowded.
If I had one tiny negative thing to say...the cheese and biscuits I ordered last time I was there were a little disappointing. But that really is a very small criticism for an otherwise lovely pub.
