One member of staff needs to learn manners and customer service. She is very rude. Overall the bakery is good for quality of product, but some items can sometimes be a bit expensive.

A great bakery in Burghfield with loads of different cream cakes, danish pastries, hot deli food, fresh bread and sandwiches. You will never leave here empty handed. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. The chocolate covered doughnuts are the best!

I am very impressed with Warings Bakery Shop and think it is defintely worth 4 stars. The Bakery Shop is situated in Burghfield on the Burghfield Road which comes out of the Bath Road, one of Reading's major arterial roads. I have often bought baguettes here on my way from work, and they don't dissappoint. The fillings are very generous ranging from prawn with marie rose sauce, tuna and mayonaise, bacon to cheese and onion. They also do "door step" sandwiches from very thick slices of bread and with similar fillings. There is an assortment already available in the chiller unit, but they also make them on the premesis. At present they sell for £2.90. Smaller rolls are about £1.50. There are also hot sausage rolls, pasties hot or cold, and croissants with bacon. On the cake side, there is a large assortment, eclairs, donughts, cream cakes of every description, and boxed cakes for special occasions. They make birthday and special occasion cakes to order. They even had speciality cakes for Halloween today - witches fingers for example. The bread assortment is as usual, white, wholemeal, rolls, baguettes and loaves, sliced or unsliced. I am inpressed with the quality and service. Everyone is polite and helpful. The only snag is that the baguette is given to you in a hard plastic baguette shaped box and I think they should be more environmentally aware, hence 4 stars and not 5.
