Above expectations
The King Charles Tavern is tucked away in Cheap Street in Newbury and is recommended by me because of its massive menu, all of which is home cooked, good sized portions, fresh and just simply delicious! Definitely gets the thumbs up from me! There is also a quiz night on Mondays which is good fun. No pub garden but otherwise all is good!

Beyond expectations
Just eaten a smashing sea-bream after great chicken-soup whilst listening to Belle and Sebastian! I could spend the rest of my days in this pub.

right near the train station, so you can pop in here if your heading for the train or coming from the train station.
