4 reviews for Cogges Manor Farm Museum

Victorian days

09 May 08, 10:22 4* Above expectations

This is a unique working museum depicting Oxfordshire rural life in victorian times. If you are interested in history this is a great day out, set in a historic manor house. They have a range of events on throughout the summer. A good day out for the kids too.

Won't break the bank

01 May 08, 23:05 4* Above expectations

A good cheap-ish day out for the family

I used to go here as a kid and still come here every now and then. There's plenty to do and you get to play farmers til the cows come home (or until they close)

As you're on the edge of the countryside when you visit this place, it's a short walk for a country picnic. I know that Oxford isn't exactly a bustling metropolis, but Cogges is a great way to get into the country.

Amazing place

25 Apr 08, 15:53 4* Above expectations

I did a days work experience here and there is so much to do for all ages.

Its great for the kids as everything is Victorian, even the costumes, everyone who works there has a story to tell.

You can milk cows, feed the lambs, and even bake in an old style kitchen with old scales.

It was a fab day out, it doesnt break the piggie bank, and would keep those kids amused for hours, whilst you take a rest in the country and have a picnic.

See how the Victorians lived

13 Nov 07, 21:45 3* As expected

Lovely old farmhouse set in gardens and orchard and with pigs and hens. Everything is just as it would have been in Victorian times and there are usually some ladies in Victorian dress to tell you more about life in those days. There are lots of special events during the summer where the children can learn by doing activities. Closed for most of the winter
