Above expectations
Great store for the home. Really large Homebase on the Bailey Retail Park. Loads of parking outside as it's near all the other big stores. Large garden centre at the side of the store and inside, all the usual furnishings. Wouldn't call this so much DIY as it is less flat pack and more already assembled. I've found the staff helful, certainly recently when I had some lighting issues. They even pointed me in the way of another independent store who might be more helpful!!

As expected
Situated on this only-just-out-of-town retail park, this Homebase is a good choice for DIY-ers because it is closer to most of the housing in town than the B&Q! It has a good range of everything from paint to pot plants, drill-bits to drain covers. The staff have been pretty useless on occasions though when asking any specialist questions it becomes clear they don't really know what they're talking about, but if you just need a paint brush then you'll be fine.
