Climb on board the Tesco Express

At first I couldn't understand why they put a Tesco Express so close to a Tesco Extra but I find it so useful on the way home when I just need to get a few items rather than walking all the way through a large store. The only downside is that it's also an Esso petrol station so at times can get very busy - Sundays at 4pm seem to be the worst! They could also do with installing some of the self-service checkouts in here.

Stop filling up and then doing a weekly shop!

This Tesco Express is handy if you need to grab a pint or some bread but it's not worth doing your weekly shop here as it doesn't have a great range and it's most Tesco branded stuff. The most annoying thing is people who fill up their car and then decide to do a shop around the store... it means the queues for petrol are longer than they need to be. There should be a 'petrol only' till so you can run in and out too, instead of getting stuck waiting for someone with a trolley to pay for their shopping. I have driven in and out without getting petrol several times because it's too busy. Plus you can't get Tesco Clubcard points as it's actually an Esso petrol station.

Convenience Costs

You're unlikely to find many own brand items in a Tesco Express. They mostly stock name brands which will hit your pocket.
Convenience costs people.
Still it's pretty darned handy if you don't want to drive around to the big Tesco store, just don't do a large shop here as you'll feel it in your wallet

You pay for convenience!

It's less than a mile from this Tesco Express to the actual Tesco store round the corner, but my, the people of Christchurch can be lazy! So for that instance where you run out of milk and it is an emergency, but not so much of an emergency that you're prepared to hop in the car or go for a bit of a walk, then this Tesco Extra will be handy. You do, however, pay for the convenience with most of the goods significantly marked up in comparison with how much they cost at the main store.
There is also a petrol station here which is always busy but that's because the prices are cheaper than other filling stations.
