Waste of time and money

Well below expectations
I went in july 2008 along with my husband and two 12 year old boys, one of whom is my son. The leaflet sold us on the place and we were all looking forward to our visit, boy were we disappointed!
We were not aware that in order to have a go on the sedways we had to ring in advance and book, so the boys coudn't have ago. You have to pay extra to take a tour of Arthur which I don't find acceptable.
The interactive exhibits - a majority of which were not working, were very poor in choice and imagination. There was very little to do and what was avaliable was impossible to get on as they were always in use and the kids gave up waiting in the end.
The food area was dirty and cluttered with used plates etc. The menu was poor and the prices expensive.
I would not recommend this place to anybody. My 12yr old is heavily into technology and robotics and he couldn't leave quick enough.

Beyond expectations
Future World at the Goonhilly Visitor Centre in Helston, Cornwall is the perfect place for anyone who has an interest in all things technical. It is home to quite a few large satellite dishes which have historic value - the first dish built in 1962 called "Arthur" was used to receive live video of the space landing on the moon.
Not only do they have tours of the Arthur satellite, they also have an exhibition where you can find out how technology has changed over the years and you can learn how things may change in the future.
As well as the Future World exhibition, you're also able to have a go on a Segway vehicle (a platform with steering on two wheels) and you can also experience the 'world's fastest free internet cafe' which is hundreds if not thousands of times faster than a home broadband connection.
It was a very interesting experience although it might not be too interesting if you're not interested in technology.
