Above expectations

A lovely pub, set in beautiful surroundings and providing a warm welcome and great local food. Children are very well catered for and there is a garden with a play house for young children. The pub is full of character, providing some interesting talking points during meals. Booking is recommended as the pub can get very full, particularly at weekends.

As expected

Great location up on the top of the Blackdown Hill above Taunton and Wellington. Local Food, well cooked and presented. Can be crowded especially over Bank Holidays and quite pricey but the pub is stuffed with history and memorabilia - fantastic bits of history of the area everywhere
