Only one of two independant electrical retailers in the town that are left now, this one and rodds electrical! The sony centre closed up two yrs ago and Bernard smith is really the only place you can get good quality sont gear! the guys in here are very knowledgable and the costs are pretty gd compared to comet etc! I love this independant shop, really recommended

Electricals everywhere.

13 May 08, 12:42 4* Above expectations

This place really does have an amazing range of electrical bits. At a good price too. The staff know their stuff and are more than happy to offer expert advise to you without you feeling like you are being swindled.

good honest service

30 Apr 08, 19:58 4* Above expectations

this is probably not the cheapest place in town to go, but if you want good old fashioned service then this is the place to go. I took a broken speaker into their shop and the man was really helpful, he went out of his way to offer me advice even though in the end I didn't buy anything

A dwindleing kind of shop

11 Apr 08, 17:34 5* Beyond expectations

if your idea of listening to music is to hold ur mobile to your ear to hear the latest download ... you really wont appreciate what an amazing shop this is. HOWEVER if you know your woofers from your tweeters and you want a quality CD player, or a nice pair of speakers or maybe even a turntable, this IS the place. Still locally owned and run, this is the shop I would live in if i could. Sadly there have only ever been a few times in my life when I had the cash to make purchases, but with the purchases I made, they have given me years of enjoyment. This is real hifi, not the crap from Comet.
