plenty of facilities great wimming pool IF YOU CAN GET IN IT. as a serious swimmer it is very annoying that you cant get a good swim in the 25 mte end of the pool between 6pm and 8pm as ALL the lanes are pre-booked by swimming clubs. so no use being a full member as there isn,t even 1 lane left vacent for regular swimmers.

As expected
It wins by being just about the only place around here with a swimming pool, but apart from that most of the facilities can be found elsewhere. It'll be good to see what happens when the new one's built in a few years time: this one does spoil the view of the river a bit.

this is a pretty good leisure centre with some good alterations, they have also managed to get the tarka tennis centre just a few hundred yards away which increases the options for you! The centre has a good gym and a pretty good swiming pool! Not too bad for this growing town!

Above expectations
I like this place as it has got alot to offer. It has a resturant, bar, indoor bowling, squash courts, excellent gym, huge swimming pool and lots of other fitness-stuff -like clasess. You can pay as you go or become a member, which is normally cheaper. Busy place where Barnstaple swimming club operate out of and sometimes you will find they have the use of the lanes alot of the evenings, which annoys some regular swimmers..but hey ho you'll just have to work round them. It won't bein this location for much longer as is going to be replaced at a different location to make way for a new college campus.

Good gym, with a monthly membership including the swimming pool so thats good. Has a cafe bar too. Recently refurbished, so its looking good, can get very busy at peak times, but thats the same as every other gym really, good value for money.

As expected
It's a leisure centre built on the 80's so to keep up with the changes in the leisure markets they have extended and changed alot. they've done a good job. Good gym, and pools. Pretty clean, and freindly staff, that's not clean staff, that's clean establishment.

At the end of the day, you get what you expect from the North Devon Leisure Centre. There is a pool to swim in, a gym to work out in and other activities along the way. Nothing special, good location, but just your average leisure centre.
