I used to always go here but lately it seems to have lost its pazzaz! Not too sure why, maybe there are better pubs around now and it does look a little tired.. funny now there is no smell of smoke you can smell the beer soaked into the floor instead. Large place inside

As expected
Martyn has recently took over this huge old pub. Lovely old beams great character. Bars snacks served during the week and Roast Sunday lunch. First pub ever to hold an ALL AGES DISCO with NO ALCOHOL . The adults had to buy their drinks from the main bar. The Clock Tower is the name for the Restaurant upstairs which will be fantastic once they are fully functional

Below expectations
If there's a huge gang of you out doing the town then this is the sort of place you end up in just because they've got the room. Apart from it's size there's not really a huge amount going for it. It's a pack 'em in and get 'em drinking type place rather than a local pub.

Crikey! This place has had more names and re fits than i've had hot dinners! Back in the day it used to be a great place to go for good drinks deals and a boogie. It still has the disco area and seperate bar, but somehow i feel it has lost its sparkle.

As expected
I went here recently for the first time in a few years and its a great place. They now serve amazing food upstairs and there is also a board/function room which is fairly large. So in this place there is a pub, a disco club, function room, restaurant, and right on the square in Barnstaple is a great location....what more could you ask for!!
