Above expectations
I suppose i was expecting a typical town centre pub, which i wouldnt say it is..... very nicely furbished inside, and the menu is varied and different. Geared more towards the restaurant side, but good for both.

Well below expectations
Whenever I walk past this place (and that's exactly what I have to do) the doors are always shut! I once read a sign in the window saying it was going to be quiet in January so they'd be closed at lunchtimes! It's going to be quiet if you don't open the doors!

As expected
I wouldn't choose this place to go for just drinks with friends. It is more swayed on being a restaurant. I have eaten here and the food was great. They are more than happy top accomodate a large group too.

As expected
food very good and reasonably priced. staff really helpful and service was excellent. menu was interesting and varied . desserts were average. as a basic place to go it was fine and I'd go again.

went there for a meal with work mates. food was amazing. served with real flair. menu was really different for barnstaple. was pleasantly suprised by the service.
