2 hour drive

31 May 08, 00:16 5* Beyond expectations

from where i live it is a 2 hour drive to get to this amazing place. We had heasrd that it was pricey so made it the main focus of our trip. Pricey, no. Id say below average on price when compared to Lego land or London Dungeons or Madame Tousauds. You get what you pay for, and this is real value for money. Get up close and personal with the sharks, the fish tunnel is amazing ( although I did feel quite dizzy) and the kids get to "play" inside the tanks. Stop moaning about the price, its a great day out fer fish sake!!

sharks!

22 Apr 08, 21:48 4* Above expectations

I first went to the National Marine Aquarium when it fist opened and was surprised when I went back earlier this year with frinds who had come down for the weekend. The shark tank was amazing and you can get very up close and personal with them. We thought it was a great morning out, although a bit pricey!

Good but expensive

18 Apr 08, 07:22 4* Above expectations

I mention price on here and yes it is expensive to visit this place. BUT when you see the brilliant conservation work and how much it must cost to run the place you understand why things are so expensive.

It is really impressive and it does make you think about things we throw away ending up in the sea. It's there to educate and entertain and it does just that.

Brilliant Day Out for anyone!

17 Apr 08, 13:43 5* Beyond expectations

I have been here with mates from College, my (ex) girlfriend (nothing to do with our trip to the Aquarium!!!), my parents, and my young cousin.

Everyone had a brilliant time. It's incredible to be able to see the fish so close, and the shark tank really takes your breath away.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the little written bits about the fish are actually really interesting.

A great day out for absolutely anybody!

Nah not for me !!

17 Apr 08, 12:57 1* Well below expectations

Christ, this place is overpriced, you need at least 3 weeks income support to get your chavvies in !! Once inside, yeah it's ok but smells a bit funny and bit too warm for my liking... You're much better off going for a walk along the seafront ! It's free and better for you !

Rainy Day Out

17 Apr 08, 12:09 4* Above expectations

There are lots of changes going on at the NMA so it is def worth a visit over the next few months. The shark tank is impressive as is the coral seas area.

It should be noted though that the queue on a rainy summer day in the school holidays can be HUGE. Everyone wants to visit the aquarium on the same day - why not go on a sunny day and have the place to yourself!

Great day out

17 Apr 08, 10:46 5* Beyond expectations

We took our small son there and he loved it. There were so many different things to see like sharks and seahorses. The staff are there to answer questions and all in all it is worth the money. Mum and Dad enjoyed it as well.

It's a sharks tale

16 Apr 08, 16:44 4* Above expectations

What a great tourinst attration. It is the biggest aquarium in Europe. You can not only see the sharks but I think you can sleep over too. They have a fish nursery and I have seen baby seahorses there! Very interactive and a great shop/cafe

Great Day Out

16 Apr 08, 12:27 5* Beyond expectations

This is a great place to go not just for kids but for grown ups too.

There are so many things to see and do, the shark tanks are superb as are the coral reefs. Its definately worth the money and they add new stuff all the time too.

Also if you are a Plymouth Resident check when you go in as sometimes they have special entry price offers if you can prove you are a local.

Brilliant

16 Apr 08, 09:28 5* Beyond expectations

What a wonderful day out for all the family!

I hadn't been for years but one wet and windy day i decided to take the kids over and we spent the most magical afternoon there!

Explorocean is so much fun, where you're actually driving the diving stuff yourself and the kids loved walking through the tunnel with the fish swimming above you.

All in all, an absolutely fantastic day out x

Magical

04 Apr 08, 17:22 5* Beyond expectations

This is one of the most wonderful places that I have ever visited. I was amazed at all they had on display and the talks and helpful staff that were available with any questions that you have. An absolute MUST for people who want something to do in Plymouth
