Drake Circus Shopping Centre

another shopping centre!

I have mixed feelings about this place, on the one hand its shiny and new and looks stunning, on the other hand theres nothing really new about whats inside ... same old same old, usual high street names. My only worry is that it doesnt drain the life out of Plymouth's shopping heart.

this is now all marble and beautiful shops. came here last summer after it had just opened, not all of the shops were open, but it was stunning. reminded me very much of an American Mall. the facilities are good I would recommend

It's not brought much new to Plymouth, it's just moved the old shops to new (alebit often much improved premises). It's left the rest of the city centre looking like even more of a wasteland than it did before. What ift gives with one hand it takes away with the other.

Great place! But also venture outside and park elsewhere!

Brilliant place to do your shopping, have a coffee, spend time with your mates (makes me feel very American - going for a coffee and "hanging out in the mall"!!)

Some really good shops, nice to have everything in one place!

There was a lot of controversy at first about the aesthetics of the building...I personally think it looks good...the panelling that looks out onto Charles Cross roundabout is a bit odd, I'll agree, but overall it looks good. It's what Plymouth needed - a bit of a facelift!

BUT...don't forget the other shops in Plymouth. There is a risk that people will just visit Drake Circus. But there are laods of brilliant shops in Plymouth not in Drake Circus...don't forget to venture outside and have a look around elsewhere!

Oh, and finally...park elsewhere! The parking is horribly expensive, and because you pay on your way out, as opposed to pay and display, you can get a very nasty shock! There's plenty of other car parks around the city centre, or perhaps use the park and ride.

We saw it being constructed and were curious for so long how it would be. Now its here its the main attraction of the city centre ! It has ecverything From Book stores to music shops, cafe's to clothes stores. It fits everyones needs and with fantastic architechture its one of the nicest places to visit in plymouth at the moment

We've waited log wnough for this to fainally arrive in Plymouth! It's great being able to not have to walk from one end of town to the other to get what you want! Plymouth has waited long enough for some of the brand names to arrive. My favourite shop has to be Lush! I cant walk past without buying something! Excellent range of shops all under one roof, worth a visit.

About time is all I can say. Plymouth was looking dated and was loseing out on shoppers to Exeter left right and center. All we need now is a GAP!

How welcome is Drake Circus to Plymouth! I love it! There are some of the best shops all under one roof, great food and really reasonable parking! Drake Circus is a really a place to visit if you want a one stop shopping trip and there are enough shops there to keep you there all day!
